Dolly Diptych Week 17: Garden Chic

This outfit is probably one of my favorite coordinates of Blair's. I love the floral pattern of the dress, the lace details of the vest and her adorable hat and bag! I'd love to rock something like that, but I would just look like a child. At least I can live vicariously through Blair, right? XD

This was also featured in Xhanthi's blog, Jointed Love, for Wearable Wednesday!

No outtakes this week since I already posted similar photos in my Sun-kissed Summer Meet recap post. Have an item list instead! :P

Hat: thrifted human-sized hat hairpin
Wig: restyled WO37_M from Leeke World
Eyes: default Fairyland 16mm glass eyes
Lace vest and floral dress set: 4XF-FM03 from Kondoll
Shoes: Snow Cut shoes for Narsha from Dollmore

Feline Blush's Wonderland Couture

Fashion designer Feline Blush has teamed up with photographer Ilse Moore to create this stunning campaign shot underwater for her first couture collection aptly called Wonderland Couture. The line consists of four unique pieces created by using digital prints on chiffon and satin with French lace detailing.

Esin Ünlü of Feline Blush has this to say about the collection:
Through Wonderland Couture, Feline Blush declares her undying love for the illusory.
She rises above and dives deep into the fluid texture of the turquoise waters,
as she contemplates her world anew, with each frame.
Explore the capricious beauty of her world, the realm of fascinating deformation.

Get the Look: Spring Parfait (MSD)

Summer is about to end over here in the Philippines, but the rainy season doesn't always bring an end to the heat when you live in a tropical country. Hello humidity!

Having a parfait is a nice way to cool down during this season. It's not too cold unlike a sundae, but it's still refreshing. This coordinate reminds me of a parfait. It will keep you covered enough when it rains, but it's still quite breezy. And though in reality dolls don't feel the change in weather, we like to pretend that they do anyway, right? ;)

Tinytoadstool x Skyboar

I'm a big fan of Shan Shan aka Tinytoadstool's style. I love how fun and flirty her coordinates are, and I love how she's jumping in the air in a lot of her photos. She's a short, petite girl, which I can definitely relate to. Despite lacking in the height department, she manages to make so many looks work for her. She's such an inspiration. :)

Her collaboration with the artist Skyboar has given me a new and better appreciation for her style. The artist's use of wispy lines and texture adds more spark and spunk to her already vivacious outfit photos.

Get the Look: Beastly God (SD)

Today is the birthday of my biggest Kpop bias, Son Dongwoon of BEAST! I have been wanting to have a reason to post this flawless being on my blog, but I never had one until now. I've always loved this photo shoot of his, and I thought it would make a nice inspiration for a Get that Look post. It's simple, but quite trendy and stylish. Hope you and your resin boys like it!

2. Fringe Shirt: Grooming-F set from Sadol (but you only need the scarf & shirt), $56
Cheaper alternative: Peacock Tee from Iplehouse, $17
4. Shoes: Black Boots from Alice's Collections, $15

Happy birthday, Godwoon!

Latest Loves: A Dash of Punk and Geek

It may not be obvious judging by this blog, but I am actually a tomboy with a penchant for studs, bones and the color black. The tomboy side of me has been dormant ever since I rediscovered my love for florals and pretty things through the mori girl style, but with the release of Diablo III, I can feel her trying to break free again. xD

Even though I only recently got Miette, I've been pining for a YO-sized boy. I'm currently eyeing Littlefee Chiwoo. I think I'm gonna turn him into a rambunctious geek! I'll probably try to take him home by next year. Fingers crossed!

What's in my bag?

There's been a bag meme going around for a long time, but I haven't been bothered to do one until I saw my friends Nix, Trisha and Lala do it. So being the occasional sheep that I am, I thought why the heck not? XD

This is what I usually bring when I go out or go to work. ^^

1. Black leather bag with studs
This bag is my favorite. I love that it's expandable and the strap is adjustable. It's so versatile! I got it for a cheap price from a bazaar in Alabang Village. I've seen it being sold in malls for double the price so I totally scored, haha!

2. Bran by Catherine Janelle
My one and only (humongous!) fox tail. Er, actually it's a direwolf tail, inspired by the direwolves from HBO's Game of Thrones. It's so big on me that it reaches my knees when I wear it on my waist, so I just attach it to my bag instead. I don't use it as often as I want to for fear of it getting damaged, but when I do, I use it for storing #14 and #15.

3. Sylvanian Family cream bunnies
I take them almost everywhere. It's nice to have cute companions. :3

4. Grey knit beanie
For bad hair days! I lost my hairbrush recently, so this beanie has been my go-to recently when my hair gets in a mess (which is almost always Dx).

5. Alcohol
To get rid of the day's dirt and grime from my hands in the absence of soap and water.

6. iPod Shuffle
Mostly filled with K-pop! Most played song is ROMANTIC by SHINee. 8D

7-11. My make-up items
Nyx round lipstick (Tea Rose), Lip Ice lip balm (Mint Orange), Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals BB Cream (Natural), Garnier Face Powder (Natural), and my beloved Choco cookie mirror.

12. Fan
To keep cool during these ridiculously hot summer days. = n =;;

13. House keys
But they don't work. xDDD

14. Cellphone
Samsung Corby. I have a love-hate relationship with it.

15. ID/Card holder
I got it from Powerbooks. It's a little pricey, but I couldn't resist! The artwork on it is by MagicSoup.

16. Black leather wallet
It used to be my mom's. It's full of receipts. :'D

17. Miette???
What is she doing there? XD Nope, sorry, as much as I want to bring her along, she has no face mask yet. Maybe that will change when she gets one?

Haha, that was kind of long. If you read all of that, you're awesome. Here's a cute Miette pic as a thank you!

Thanks for reading! ^o^/

I'm a Sucker for Stockings

...and tights for that matter. For some people, wearing them in a tropical country like the Philippines is uncomfortable, but not for me. I almost always wear a pair everyday! I love how stylish they are. They're more comfortable than wearing jeans, in my opinion.

Online clothing shop ASOS.com carries some really cute stockings and tights. Below are some of my personal picks from their line.

Get the Look: Vanilla Tea Cookie with Pink Frosting (SD)

This week has been quite crazy for me at work, so please forgive me for cheating on this week's Get the Look. I found this cozy coordinate and it instantly saw its similarity with a lot of Nine9Style pieces! Too bad I didn't find the right wig from them, so I had to go with one from LUTS instead.

Hope you guys like it! ^^

Fancying FoxyBrowny

If someone asks me what my favorite doll clothes shop is, I would say "FoxyBrowny!" in a heartbeat. Their clothing fits the mori girl aesthetic, with their use of natural color palettes and fabrics mixed with a light and carefree style. I love how effortlessly pretty the clothes are.

Even before I got Blair, I swore to myself that she would have at least one clothing set from them. I managed to snag this one for a cheaper price at the DoA Marketplace, and it's become one of my favorite outfits of hers!

Below are some of my favorite sets from FoxyBrowny.

Theme Thursday: Decora

Decora is another outrageous fashion style that started in Japan. This style reminds me of Lisa Frank's artwork because of all the bright colors and cutesy, childish accessories they use in their outfits. It's like a throwback to the '90s (my childhood!), only with the rainbow vomit multiplied by the thousands! I love it, haha!

1. The Rainbow Child 2. Hair detail 3. sweetest thing
4. Japan Harajuku Decora 5. Rainbow Addict 6. Yumiko
7. Harajuku Lolitas 8. Jelly by Kikyo 9. Patronato Lovers
Now I want some candy. :'D

Get the Look: Chocolate Almond Truffles (SD)

Here's a cool coordinate for SD boys that reminds me of chocolate truffles. Haha, who would have thought that layering jackets would look chic? I guess it depends on the person wearing it. Ah well, I'm pretty sure your doll can carry the look. ;)

I should do looks for guys more often. It's a lot easier! XD

Alexander McQueen 2012 Spring Collection

I'm not an expert when it comes to haute couture, nor am I runway fanatic, but I am familiar with the works of Alexander McQueen. I love how they turn clothes into pieces of art and how they push the boundaries of beauty.

I was a little worried when I heard about the eponymous creative director's death two years ago, but judging from Kate Middleton's wedding gown and their recent collections, the brand is in good hands. Their most recent collection is yet another amazing one. I wouldn't want to wear them (as if I could), but they are a sight to behold.

Below are some of my favorite pieces from the collection:

Creative director Sarah Burton had this to say about the collection:
"I was thinking about a woman as an object of desire. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them. This is a collection about excess - an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme."

Game of Thrones Inspired Collection by Catherine Janelle; Blair's Daenerys Cosplay

My friend and fellow Game of Thrones fanatic Nix linked me to her friend Catherine Janelle's online clothing shop a few weeks ago. Her collection called Skin Changer draws inspiration from the different characters of the series. My GoTard self went nuts! I wanted almost everything. I love the subtle eccentricity of the pieces. They're quite unconventional but still totally wearable.

Here are some of my favorite pieces:

Sansa's Prayer
I love the sheer color and the leather appliqué!

Arya's Prayer
This has so much spunk, just like its namesake.

Bran
It serves as a cute accessory AND a small purse!

Daenerys Qartheen
A tunic fit for the mother of dragons. ;)

Varys
It transforms into 6 different looks!
I plan to order a Bran soon. I'll post about it when I get it!

Speaking of Game of Thrones, last October, ManikaManila held its Halloween meet. I dressed Blair up as Daenerys Targaryen, while my other friends dressed their dolls up as other characters from the show.

Danaerys with Khal Drogo and the dragon eggs! :3
I can't wait for the second season of the show to air! April 1, can't you come any sooner? = n = ;;

Get the Look: Lavender Mocha Cupcake (MSD)

I don't normally like lavender and brown together, but this sweet coordinate is an exception. It actually looks quite refreshing, just like how I imagine a lavender mocha cupcake would taste like!

Get the Look: Strawberry Chocolate Tiramisu (MSD)

I've been really into neutrals and earth tones recently. It makes outfits look laid-back, comfy and effortless. But it can look quite boring, so adding a pop of color would certainly bring an outfit to life!

This outfit from Sechuna is a very cute example. I couldn't resist trying to recreate this for dolls!

Photos taken from Sechuna & Gourmet Baking.
Fur collar: Chic Mustang Vest (Skin) from Dollmore, $13
OR
Make your own! Just scale it down to dolly size^^
Shoes: Shoe Model KDS-37 (Chocolate) from LUTS, $40

These items were the closest I could find. >_< If you have better suggestions, please don't hesitate to share them in the comments! :)
