macroMiette!

For the past few months, I've been waffling about which sculpt would best fit a YOSD version of Miette. I think my friends are tired of hearing me out to be honest. XD Well, good news! I've narrowed it down to two candidates: Cherry Castle Strawberry and Lina Chouchou Macaron!

Both have pros and cons: CC Strawberry is super cute and super cheap and the company offers a variety of extra hands, but her nose's sidewalls are too prominent for my liking; LCC Macaron, on the other hand, is just as cute but also three times more expensive and is only available as a fullset doll on LCC's website. LCC doesn't offer a lot of extras either, plus her eyes a lot less like the eye shape of the original Miette.

I'm so torn right now. XD Ugh. What do you think?

Hope you're all doing well, wherever you are. It's the rainy season over here, so no faceupdates from me for a while. I do, however, have a huge backlog of photos! I need to get some time off and edit them, but recently my free time is being eaten up by preparations for the ManikaManila Tiangge. I'll be having a booth there again where I'll be selling accessories and pre-loved items. Do say hi if you come! <3

And We're Back :)

Hey there! It's been a while. ^^

In my previous post, I mentioned taking a break from the hobby. Well, that never happened. XD I took a break from blogging instead. I was still very active on Instagram though lol, posting photos of my girls here and there, with the occasional faceup WIP thrown in.

Speaking of faceups, I've begun to take it more seriously now. I'm happy to say that I have improved quite a bit and have now moved on to using acrylics for my faceups. The three ladies below are my last watercolor pencil faceups. I think they turned out quite well. :3 But using pencils is sooo costly. I had to sharpen my pencils again and again to achieve fine lines. So yeah, I'm sticking to acrylics now. Wish me luck!

Three-Year Hump

Apologies for the lack of updates for an entire month. I've been feeling out of sorts with the hobby lately. There are days when I'm perfectly happy and contented with just staring at my dolls, and there are days when I feel like I've lost my way in this hobby. There are so many things that I want to do with my dolls in terms of photography, blogging, and what-not, but lately I haven't had enough energy to do so. Ugh, I hate it. It makes me feel disappointed in myself. I know I shouldn't be taking this too seriously, but I can't help but feel it, you know? :(

This is just temporary though, I'm sure of it. I love my dolls way too much so I know I'll be back on track soon. I just need time to figure things out, I guess.

Sorry for the rant. I try not to make this blog too personal, but I felt like I owed an explanation to you guys. Thanks for sticking around. See you guys in a bit. :)

Leather & Lace: The ManikaManila Valentine Meet 2014

Last February 22, we held our annual Valentine meet with the theme Leather & Lace. Dolls were required to don either a leather, lace or leather & lace ensemble. This was the first meet I organized as a moderator for ManikaManila, and it makes me really proud and happy to have a great turnout for this meet. ;w;

The meet was held in Tutto Domani, a quaint restaurant specializing in mouth-watering comfort food. The restaurant also doubles as a toy store. They carry designer toys such as Kidrobot and Tokidoki. Aside from the usual dolly admiring, chit-chatting, we held a contest for best costume and we also had a doll version of Never Have I Ever. XD

These folks were by far the most fashionable that day, so they get cover photo status. <3

My big girls Rowan and Blair were the only ones in attendance from me for a change. Here they are with Violet. :3

The Valentine meet wouldn't be complete without my favorite couple, Ninon & Dice! *v*

Tutto Domani's staff were very nice and accommodating! We'd probably go back there again for a smaller meet since the place was a bit small for the number of attendees (there were more than thirty of us!). Also, it was gloomy outside, so please bear with the less than stellar photos. ^^
