Blair Mayfair is the little mori girl who lives with me. This is her story (sort of).
Blair is a young girl whose origins are not known, even to her. One morning, in a quaint room in South Korea, she woke up without any memories. The only clue to her identity was a vase filled with fresh peonies and a card with the words "To Blair" written on it.
She learned soon enough that an old lady who owned a flower shop had been taking care of her and putting flowers by her bedside for a couple of months. Upon meeting her, Blair battered the poor old lady with questions. Who was she? What happened to her? Who brought her there?
However, the old lady could not give her the answers she was looking for. The old lady said that one day, she found an envelope with a big sum of money inside it and a letter with instructions enclosed with it. The letter told her where to find her, how to take care of her and to bring her fresh peonies every week.
Despite the lack of answers, Blair decided to let it go. Damn the past. She decided that she had been given a fresh start, a second chance in life. It would be stupid to waste it wondering and wandering about what had been.
As soon as she gained her health back, the old lady took her under her wing as an apprentice florist. Blair enjoyed it immensely and learned the craft quickly. Soon enough, her flower arrangements made her quite popular in their small community. It also didn't hurt that she stood out with her ambiguous Eurasian features. Guys would hit on her, but she would brush them off with polite disinterest.
Two years later, the old lady died, leaving Blair as the owner of the flower shop and guardian of the old lady's 3-year old granddaughter, Miette. She kept the business running for several months before deciding to leave it to the more senior florists. She figured it was now time to move on and look for a new adventure.
Upon hearing about beautiful sunsets and beach weather from an online friend, Blair decided to pack her bags and go to the Philippines. After making a pinky promise with Miette (she wanted to tag along, but Blair couldn't afford it yet), she left South Korea and landed on Philippine shores.
The rest, as they say, is history. :)
