Wish You Were Here
Blair takes good care of Miette and loves her like a real sister, which Miette reciprocates, but the little girl can't help but miss her mom sometimes.
Sadly, her mom is no longer with us.

ManikaManila's Blind Date Valentine Meet
Last Saturday, I attended ManikaManila's annual Valentine Meet, which was held in Balkan Restaurant, Makati. This wasn't our usual kind of meet though, where we just sat, ate and talked with each other. Instead, we got our dolls paired up by drawing lots!
There were ice breaker questions which our dolls "answered" to get to know their dates better. Of course, things got interesting. As usual, I'll let the photos do the talking. XD
WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY POST AHEAD!

Incomplete grou shot! We took this late in the day so there were several who went home already. |
Blair got paired up with her good pal, Christopher. (This awesome garden table set is from The 5th Atelier) |
And Miette got paired up with Windrette (back shot for now, but you'll see her later)! |

Meadow of Silence
I had originally intended to post a more colorful, retro-vintage version of this set, but the photos evoked a sense of melancholy in me as I was editing them... so they ended up like this: in black and white. I think it worked out for the best. The title comes from Blair's name, which is means "meadow" in Gaelic, and the fact that she's mute. The lack of color also reminds me of silent movies, which matches the concept. :)

Kirsty Mitchell's Wonderland
If you have a Tumblr or Pinterest account, I'm sure you've encountered some of Kirsty Mitchell's work from her Wonderland series. But did you know that aside from the photography and editing, she made all the props and costumes herself? My mind was blown when I learned about that. Look at all the detail and artistry! Amazing.
However, what's more amazing is the story behind this set of photos. It's an ongoing project (3 years long and counting) that she did to honor her late mother, who was the best storyteller she knew. It's a touching story, and you can read about it here. Reading it gave me an even greater appreciation for her work.
Below are some of my favorites from the set:
(You can view the whole gallery here)
Kirsty says there are still six more photos left before the series ends. I can't wait to see the conclusion. I'm sure it will be magnificent.

CH Hanael Faceup for Mari Sol
Here's another free faceup commission I did for a friend. It's another natural faceup, but it's a little more dramatic. I experimented with the eyelashes' thickness a bit. It's thicker than the other faceup I did, but I think it looks nice. Still need to learn how to control my stroke pressure though. Anyway, here are the photos!

Minifée Celine
Fairyland just released a new Minifée named Celine as both a fullset and basic doll, and oh god I love her. She's so pretty! I agree with most people that she looks a lot like Chloe though. Seems like Fairyland's taking the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach since Chloe is a crazy popular sculpt. Judging by the reaction of the people, seems like FL hit it on the nail again with Celine.
Aside from the facial features, what I adore about FL's new release is the costume. It reminds me of a human version of Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony (look at the eye color and general color palette!). I love the golden shimmer on the purple dress and the star motif on the lace of the sleeves and stockings. The wig is cute as well! The mini hairbow she's sporting also reminds me of Lady Gaga, whom I'm a huge fan of.
While I do love her, I don't think I'm getting another Minifée anytime soon. I have other plans, haha! Maybe if I win the lottery and I've purchased the dolls I plan on getting already, I'll keep her in mind if I decide to get another Minifée.

Miette Likes to Move It, Move It!
A few hours before this posting, I was in the mall with Ryan after work hours. We bought milk tea and hung out at the food court for a while. I brought Miette with me, so I took her out and he started doing some crazy poses with her.
I regret not having a more decent camera to capture what ensued (I used my cheapo cellphone instead). I mean... LOOK!
I'm still baffled. Take note: she's only on the single-jointed Lati Yellow version 1 body. Miette never poses like that when I play with her! Does this mean she likes Ryan more than me? Say it ain't so!

I think she might be interested in taking up ballet lessons. |

Haru & Mina
I am head over heels in love with photographer Hideaki Hamada's precious photographs of his sons Haru and Mina! Gosh, aren't they the most adorable? I just love the candidness and the storybook quality of the photos. I feel all warm and nostalgic just looking at them.
These are some of my favorites. I hope you like them, too!

AoD Fei Faceup for Mari Sol
Finally, a faceup I'm actually quite proud of! I've been struggling with my faceup work ever since taking on free slots a few months ago. It's been terribly frustrating, but I've learned quite a lot in the process despite screwing up again and again, haha!
Even though I'm happy with the result, there's still a lot of room for improvement. I'm looking forward to painting the other heads that are with me soon!
